Abstract

In Indonesia most of the fruit is harvested seasonally, when the harvest season the availability of fruit is abundant and at other seasons some types of fruit are not found on the market. This situation from agribusiness is certainly still not profitable. The stretching of the conception period, is to accelerate the beginning of the fruit season and slow the end of fruit season, will improve the situation. In this way not all trees bear fruit at the same time, so that the supply-demand balance over a long period of time can be corrected. Paklobutrazol can induce the appearance of flowers, although it can inhibit the emergence of vegetative shoots. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of administration of growth regulator paklobutrazol on flowering of red garifta mango plants out of season. This study used a simple randomized block design (RBD), namely the concentration of paklobutrazol (control, 15 ml / liter, 30 ml / liter, 45 ml / liter, 60 ml / liter, 75 ml / liter, 90 ml / liter). The data were appealed using the BNJ comparative test level of 5%. The results of flowering observation showed that paklobutrazol in all concentrations had a very significant effect on the parameters of time of flowering, length, panicle width, number of panicle children, number of flowers per plant, number of flowering plants, number of fruit per panicle, number of fruits per plant and percentage formation fruit. In the parameters of length, width, number of fruits per panicle and number of fruits per plant, administration of 75 ml / liter of paklobutrazol has the longest and most average and the heaviest fruit weight, although not significantly different from the treatment of 60 ml / liter, 45 ml / liter, 90 ml / liter and 30 ml / liter, while the treatment of paklobutrazol with a concentration of 60 ml / liter showed the results of the number of panicles and the number of flowers per plant the most and different was not real with the treatment of 75 ml / liter, 45 ml / liter, 90 ml / liter and 30 ml / liter. The administration of paklobutrazol has an effect on flowering and the fruit yield of red garifta mangoes. Paklobutrazol can accelerate the time of flowering, increase the number of flowers, number of fruits and percentage of fruit formation.
