Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia has natural wealth that is useful as resources and big assets to the venture of handling and raising the tourism. By the existing of establishment in tourism sector, it can be wider job field and help the raising of human prosperity and welfare. The existing of Bendungan Selorejo Tourism to the traders gives a distinction social act in social life around Bendungan Selorejo Tourism. In this case, the traders around Selorejo have an unique characteristic which is most of the traders sell the same food, that is typical menu from fisherman product, such as mujaer, indigo, shrimp, fish of wader, etc, and they are given special stand so most of the food that they sell are the same. This research is intended to describe about trader’s social act pattern in food center are in Bendungan Selorejo Tourism Village Banturejo sub-district Ngantang regency Malang. In this research, the researcher uses qualitative method with descriptive approach and takes a location in Bendungan Selorejo Tourism Village Banturejo sub-district Ngantang regency Malang. Subject of this research is the traders in food center area in Bendungan Selorejo Tourism. The methods of data collection that is used are observation, interview and documentation. In this case, technique of checking the validity of data uses interactive analysis model that is proposed by Miles and Huberman. Theory analysis uses Social Exchange Homans theory. The result of this research shows that traders’ social act related with competition is stuff offering strategy by offering food when the visitor come. Besides, they have permanent customer in every traders; social solidarity among traders is showed in helping each other and the traders always held such kind of travelling every once 6 month; the cooperation among traders in the form of cooperate in economic (buy and sell activity among traders, searching for stuff to sell, cooperate in food price that is done by traders community to the traders in food center, cooperate in making contribution every week among traders in food center), cooperate in cleanliness and cooperate in safety and environment calmness. The accommodation is in the form of counseling about the importance of keeping harmony and avoids conflicts among traders and monthly dialogue among traders.
