Abstract

Strawberry (Fragaria sp.) is one of fruit plant types with high economic value and many benefits, but strawberry is a perishable horticulture product and very vulnerable to disease pests. One of the constraints of Indonesian farmers is to handle pest attack and plant disease by using chemical pesticides, as a result, the abandoned chemical pesticide residues will be very dangerous to the environment and the product result can be dangerous to the consumers if consumed. Therefore, an effective and environmentally friendly effort is needed to improve the quality and quantity of strawberry plant production from pest and disease, which is by using natural pesticides at controlling pests and main disease of strawberry plant. This research aims to know the pest and disease that attacks and the attack intensity to strawberry plants. Besides that, it also aims to know the effectivityfro several types of natural pesticides as pest control and disease on strawberry plant. This research uses Randomized Group Design that is arranged factorially with two treatment factors and two repetitions. The first factor is raw material treatment and the second factor is concentration treatment each treatment has 3 concentration treatments and obtains 15 treatment combinations. Based on the research result, strawberry plant has pests and diseases like Valanga nigricornis, Acrida turrita, Lamprosema indica, Spodoptera sp., and Aphiss gossypii, Tip Burn, Leaf Blight, Anthracnose, and Gray Mold. Mahogany leaf extract 50% is a treatment sample that can suppress that total population. Intensity of pest attack and disease on strawberry plant can be suppressed with effective treatment sample like Beauveria bassiana 25% solution is able to suppress the intensity of locust attack, leaf caterpillar, Aphiss gossypii. Betel leaf extract is able to suppress the intensity of leaf blight and anthracnose attack, Betel leaf extract 50% and Mahogany leaf extract 50% is able to suppress the intensity of Gray Mold attack. Besides that, 75% Maja extract is able to suppress the intensity of Tip Burn and has an average value of total strawberry plant production which tends to be higher than other samples.
