Abstract

Based on observation data shows that the activity and learning outcomes of fourth grade students in science subjects of interest material is still low. The learning process is still teacher-centered, learning activities carried out by students only listening (listening activities) and writing explanations from the teacher (writing activities) because the teacher only uses the lecture method in delivering learning material. Teachers are also very rarely apply learning media in science subjects, so it causes low student learning activities that impact on the low student learning outcomes in science subjects. This study aims to improve the activities and student learning outcomes in science learning material part of interest with the application of the media Magic Flower. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of silus I and cycle II. The research was carried out at Tumpukrenteng 01 Turen Elementary School, Malang Regency. The target of this study was fourth grade students with 16 students. Data collection techniques using interview guidelines, observation sheets, knowledge and documentation tests. Analiss data for student learning activity sheets using percentages, while learning outcomes were analyzed using knowledge tests with completeness adjusted for KKM at school, 70. The results of the study showed an increase in activity and student learning outcomes after using Magic Flower media in science learning. The increase in student learning activities from the first cycle of 71.42% rose to 82.14% in the second cycle. Student learning outcomes whose values have reached KKM as much as 43.75% in the first cycle and rose to 80.30% in the second cycle. Based on these results it can be concluded, the activities and learning outcomes of fourth grade students SDN Tumpukrenteng 01 Turen after using Magic Flower media there was an increase. Based on this, it is suggested that Magic Flower media teachers can be an alternative in overcoming the problem of activities and student learning outcomes in science learning, especially in the material section of interest.
