Abstract

This research is conducted based on researcher idea that the resercher wants to provide a different ways in learnning pattern because sometimes the teaching method applied by the teacher were still traditional method that faced by students of 11th grade at SMA Muhammadiah 1 Malang. Furthermore, the researcher wanted to give a new learning style and method to changes the learning atmosphere in classroom. This research implmented classroom action research (CAR) design to enhance teacher method in teaching-learning writing class were collaborated with the English teacher in implementing this method. The subjects of this research are the students of 11th grade at SMA Muhammadiah 1 Malang that consisted of 13 students. This subjects were taken using a purposive sampling based on shared characteristic that was the fact that the students have some problems in writing that was needed to be improved and then the animation movie was given to the students in order to improve the students’ writing ability. This research used the action research model were developed by Kemmis and McTaggart in Burns (1999) and used quantitative data as the intruments of collecting the data in this research. Based on the research result, there were improvement of the students’ writing skill and the condition of the class during the teaching learning process. The improvement could be seen from the result of the pre-test and after giving the treatment (post-test 1 and post-test 2). The mean scores of the result were 67.69 for the pre-test, 71.92 for the post-test 1, and 80.38 for the post-test 2. It is suggested that the teacher should be more creative in teaching writing, use media to support the teaching and learning process more, and make some interesting activities in classroom. While, the students have to motivate themselves, develop their skill in writing, and practice English more.
