Abstract

Agroforestry is management system and land use by combining forestry plants with agricultural crops and/or livestock to obtain optimum production result. Agroforestry cropping pattern also protects land from damage and prevent a decrease in soil fertility through natural mechanisms. Welfare can be defined as safety, peace, pleasure of life and prosperity. The aim of this research was to find out stand production in land with agroforestry pattern and find out welfare rate of farmers from agroforestry pattern application in Bendosari Village, Pujon sub-district, Malang sub-district. In this research, method of taking data was conducted by taking primary data such as social-economic condition, regency condition and welfare level as well as high diameter stands on agroforestry land, whereas secondary data is sap production and general location conditions. From obtaied data, it was analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The result of the research showed that the potential of pine stands in agroforestry patterns in a tight cluster had stand volume of 381.9957 m3/ha, and the volume of 248.8455 m3/ha, whereas volume of tenuous pattern of 123.6349 m3/ha. Uneven stands on agroforestry land could be caused by the existence of fallen stands or lack of preservation and maintenance of forestry crops by farmers. Sap result was more optimum in dry season of April - September because sap result was also affected by environment and tapping technique. In general, Agroforestry can increase welfare of farmers’ family but it is not enoughif it only refers to income from agroforestry. Welfare level of most agroforestry farmers’ family in Bendosari Village have been in Prosperous Family I of 83.3%, whereas farmers who were categorized as Prosperous Family were about 13.3%. there were only 3.4% farmers who were categorized in Pre Prosperous Family - the average of agroforestry income in Bendosari Village was Rp 14.092.933,00/year. The income depended on some factors such as land area and type of seasonal crops cultivated as well as land management and maintenance.
