Abstract

Farmers who run large red chili farms in the rainy season and dry season
in Tawangargo Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency rarely take into
account the costs incurred in detail. Apart from that, they also rarely record how
much revenue they get, the amount of costs and the farmers' income from farming
that they actually receive, so it is difficult to know, and many farmers have not even
calculated the amount of R/C from their farming so that farmers do not know
whether the red chili farming business is big. they try to be worthy or not worthy.
This research aims to analyze the feasibility of farming the rainy season and the
dry season as well as comparing the feasibility of farming large red chilies in the
rainy season and the dry season. The research method used is analysis of the
feasibility of farming the R/C ratio and the paired sample t test. The results of this
research indicate that large red chili farming is financially feasible to operate and
develop, this is because the R/C ratio value obtained in the rainy season is 2.12 and
the dry season is 1.51, which means the R/C value is > 1, so the farming is worth
pursuing or developing. The results of the Paired Sample Test show that there is a
difference in the feasibility of farming large red chilies in the rainy season and the
dry season in Tawangargo Village, where the average income of large red chilies
per hectare per season in the rainy season is Rp. 101,573,764 and the dry season
is Rp. 45,393,331.
