Abstract

The debate over the relocation of the Indonesian capital continues. The relocation of the country's capital is influenced by several factors, namely social, political, economic, environmental and disaster factors. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the discourse of East Kalimantan is analyzed rather than the capital of Indonesia. This research method uses a qualitative approach in literature research analysis. Using primary books, journals, laws and regulations, and also news that discuss the feasibility of a region as the capital of Indonesia. The results of this research were carried out with spatial, ecological, and territorial approaches from the study of the City of Jakarta whether it is still feasible to become the State Capital is again discussed. Hypothetically, Jakarta is not very suitable as the capital of the country. In addition, East Kalimantan has been chosen to be the new national capital. East Kalimantan was chosen as the new State Capital because of its vast area, its population is not as dense as Jakarta, supporting infrastructure, East Kalimantan's economic conditions are ready to be made the National Capital, and also the East Kalimantan region is an area with minimal natural disasters
