Abstract

Electricity can be produced in several ways. Most fuels are used to rotate turbines connected to a generator which will produce electricity. No exception with wind energy that uses wind turbines. Wind turbines based on their rotation are of two types, namely fixed speed and variable speed. With the condition of the region that has different wind speeds, variable speed wind turbines are more often used because they can get the desired maximum power over a large wind speed range. The use of wind turbines also uses additional power electronic equipment such as diode rectifiers and boost boosters. So special algorithms are needed in order to optimize the work of the rectifier diode and boost converter. Searching for maximum power uses the ant colony optimization algorithm that regulates the duty cycle of the converter. The DC-Link voltage is kept constant at a 650 Volt voltage with a DC voltage regulator that uses the ant colony optimization algorithm. MATLAB / Simulink is used to simulate the modeling of wind turbine systems. The results of the simulation show that the ant colony optimization algorithm can regulate power flow at changes in wind speed.
