Abstract

The research is designed to see the effects of using Study in USA magazine for vocabulary mastery in 11th grade of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 01 Kota Malang. The research is aimed to find out the influence of Study in USA magazine in vocabulary mastery especially for 11th grade of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 01 Kota Malang (MAN 1 KOTA MALANG). This research uses quantitative design because of the data is in the form of numerical and statistical analysis. Quasi experimental is included by quantitave design. In this research, the population is 75 students of the 11th grade at MAN 1 Kota Malang which divided into experimental and control group. The purposive sampling is used by the researcher as the sampling technique. The Study in USA magazine is utilized in treatment by experimental group. Independent Samples Mann Whitney U Test is operated to the data analysis. Based on the non parametric statistical testing with Independent Sample Mann Whitney U Test is obtained significant score ,019. It means H1 or alternative hypothesis sounded there was the difference by using Study in USA magazine to promote 11th grade students’ vocabulary mastery in MAN 01 Kota Malang is accepted. The result of the research is showed that there was the difference of vocabulary mastery. It was caused by using of Study in USA magazine for 11th grade in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 01 Kota Malang and the using of Study in USA magazine improves vocabulary mastery.
