Abstract

The huge number of Instagram account users in Indonesia making it as a social media that gives many opportunities to business owners. Business promotions is a thing in Instagram and that is exactly what Kamera Malang did since 3 years ago. In a way, Instagram plays quite a big role in Kamera Malang’s growth. With this background statement, the researcher made a proposition formula on the use of Instagram as a promotion media by Kamera Malang’s manager. This research refers to Zarella’s theory in 2010, which is about promotion stages using social media; monitoring, responding, research, campaign versus ongoing strategy, integration and call to action. This research is using the qualitative approach. Using qualitative approach, the researcher intends to find and understand the utilization of Instagram as Kamera Malang’s promotion media in full-scale so that the researcher finds out the answer for the proposition. According to the tabulated data, the researcher discover the answer that Instagram is the media that is perfect and suitable to Kamera Malang’s target market. By using Instagram, Kamera Malang as businessmen can design marketing or promotion messages such as persuasive, informative and educative messages in each photographs and videos uploaded in Kamera Malang’s Instagram page.
