Abstract

DC to DC converter is a device to convert a direct voltage direct voltage to another value can be increased or decreased. Buck boost converter is one mode of the switching regulator DC to DC converter in which the output voltage is greater or smaller than the input. These converters combine buck mode (lowering the voltage) with the mode boost (step-up voltage). Buck boost convensional there are many losses in the switching process , for it was developed a solution to overcome these problems with soft-switching. Soft-switching is a switching technique which allows the switch when ON voltage is near zero and near-zero current when OFF. Developed soft-switching are intended to increase efficiency and reduce losses while switching. The results obtained after testing is increasing in the current soft switching when given load. Minimum duty cycle that is required when the circuit is given a load of 25% to light the lamp load. The resulting increased efficiency when given load than without load. At the moment 50% duty cycle, the buck boost converter circuits without soft-switching amounted to 1,869 W, while the buck boost circuit with soft-switching amounted to 2,548 W.
