Abstract

Forests are the most important component in human life and other living things. The forest community consists of flora and fauna which have the functions and benefits of each. Mangrove forest Tuada Jailolo village is a forest that has different types of land use, including primary mangrove forests and secondary mangrove forests. However, the existence of Mangrove Forest is not balanced with information about the flora and fauna that live in it. Therefore there is research in this forest location. The purpose of this study was to identify and determine the value of bird species diversity index in the mangrove forest area of Tuada Jailolo Village, West Halmahera. This study uses the line method to determine the observation and transect paths and control points for data pregnancy points. The time for data collection is done for one month which then identifies 22 species of birds with a diversity index value that is very different. Primary mangrove forest has a value of H 2.74. Whereas in the secondary mangrove forest the high diversity index value is obtained because more than> 2.00 is 2.15. The value of H is the value of the diversity index of birds. Different types of land use also affect the results obtained. Pimer mangrove forests have a fairly high level of sustainability because they have not been touched by the community, which is then used as a place to live and habitat for birds in this location.
