Art is the result of human culture that reflects the expression of the meaning of life. Music is part of human spiritual life, then no one tribal nation in the world who do not have the typical music. Likewise, as with Mandailing people who have traditional music, both personal as well as a mass form of entertainment as well as sacred. Among the tribe Mandailing, art occupies an important position in their lives. He was found in the various aspects of life ranging from simple forms through to the other ceremonies. Each performance art have aesthetic value. The research is to provide an explanation regarding the theatrical aspects of dance Tor-tor in Mandailing Natal, North Sumatra. The general objective of this research are (1) Describe the history of the origins of dance "Tor-tor." (2) Describe the structure of Theatrical Dance Element-Tor Tor which include: a) plot, b) theme, c) the meaning of the motion. (3) Describe the texture of Theatrical Dance-Tor Tor which include: a) Clothing / costume, b) Equipment Music, c) song / lyrics, d) Time and Place. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Techniques used in this study were (1) Engineering Data Collection, conducted by observation, interviews, documentation and record keeping activities. (2) Instruments Research, and Data Card shaped Grid Interview. (3) Data Processing Techniques, conducted by Card Data and results of interview. The results of this study indicate that aspects of Theatrical Dance Tor in the office include the structure and texture. Structure is the arrangement of the elements that systematically, which its elements occur between the reciprocal relationship that mutually determine. Texture is the aspect of the presentation of Tor-tor. There is also the structure of Tor-Tor Theatrical consist of flow of the dance sequence of Tor-Tor, The theme of the topic or message of the dance poem sung in Tor-Tor, and the meaning of Motion is the meaning of the movements used in dance-Tor Tor. While Tor-Tor Theatrical Texture consists of clothing or costume, Tools Music, song or lyrics, Time and Place relating to aspects of the presentation of dance Tor-tor.
