Abstract

The use of efficient production factors by farmers is very important to support production results. The purpose of this study is to (1) extract income from large red chili farming (Capsium Annum L.), (2) analyze what factors of production (land area, seeds, fertilizers, labor, and pesticides) affect the amount of farm production large red chili (Capsium Annum L.), and (3) knowing the efficiency of the use of production factors for large red chili farming (Capsium Annum L.) in Dau Subdistrict, East Java Malang Regency has been efficient or not. This research method is purposive sampling or intentionally. The population of this study were large red chilli farmers in Dau Subdistrict, which were 135 people, then a sample of large red chili farmers in Kucur and Gadingkulon Village were 57 farmers with a significance level of 10 percent. The analytical method used is by analyzing farming financing, multiple linear regression analysis with Cobb Douglas model and analysis of production factor efficiency. The results of the study show (1) The average income of large red chilli farmers per hectare per season is IDR 22,647,500, - with an average number of production of 2,039 kg and an R / C ratio of 1.25; (2) Factors in the production of land area, labor, use of seeds, use of fertilizers and the use of pesticides have a simultaneous influence. Partially, only the factors of land area production, fertilizers and pesticides have a significant effect on the production of large red chili. But fertilizers and pesticides have a low level of significance; and (3) Inefficient factors of production variables are labor, use of seeds, use of fertilizers and pesticides.
