Abstract

Background: Hypvolemia management is a crucial aspect in maintaining fluid balance and preventing potentially fatal complications. This involves four actions, including observation, therapeutic measures, education, and collaboration. Patients undergoing a caesarean section (SC) are susceptible to significant blood loss, and hypovolemia management is key to ensuring optimal recovery. On the first day post SC, patient require careful monitoring and intervention to prevent hypovolemia that could threaten their hemodynamic stability.
Purpose: The general purpose of writing this Final Paper is to find out the nursing care of hypovolemia management in post SC patients (Sectio Caesarea) with indications of placenta previa.
Metode: This research design utilizes descriptive qualitative research with a method or approach of a case study, providing comprehensive nursing care through the nursing process approach, which consists of assessment, data analysis, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and nursing care evaluation.
Result: After carrying out hypovolemia nursing intervention with observation measures, namely checking for signs and symptoms of hypovolemia, monitoring fluid intake, output, administering blood transfusions, RL (Ringer's lactate) fluids, the results were that the intervention could increase hemoglobin which improved from 4.9 g/dL to 9.9 g /dL, Hematocrit level improved from 14.7% to 23.6%, pulse frequency improved to 89 x/minute, blood pressure improved to 120/70 mmHg, feeling of weakness decreased.
Conclusio: From the results of this research, it can be concluded that collaborative nursing interventions in the management of hypovolemia, such as administering 2 units of packed red blood cells (PRC) per day, monitoring fluid intake and output significantly, can increase fluid volume and prevent complications in postpartum hemorrhage patients post-Caesarean section with placenta previa indication.
