Abstract

The availability of an increasingly depleted world energy source is not comparable to the increasing needs along with the increasing human population. In Indonesia, these conditions have caused the development of alternative energy to be carried out by involving the agricultural sector, such as biodiesel production. This research aims to determine the level of seed productivity and the quality of biodiesel obtained from several Jatropha genotypes. The study was conducted in the experimental garden of Kedung Pengaron Village, Kejayan District, Pasuruan Regency and Agrotechnology Laboratory of Muhammadiyah University of Malang for 8 months from January to August 2018 using population Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) 20 plant samples with 4 replications in each genotype from crosses (5, 6, 7 and 18) and 2 comparison plants, namely IP3A and IP3P. Based on the results of the study obtained information that best production level was obtained by the IP3A genotype with an average number of fruit 114.53, the average number of seeds 307.9 and the average total dry weight of 152.05, the best seed quality owned by the average JC7 crossing number the highest average dry weight of 100 seeds is 58.11 because it has the highest average oil content of 47.58% with the lowest average water content of 5.3%, while the best biodiesel quality is owned by JC6 crossing number with the average number acid and the lowest FFA levels were 2.94 mg-KOH / g and 1.48% and the highest saponification number, ester number and highest rendemen were 230.01 mg-KOH / g, 226.14 mg-KOH / g and 82.72%.
