Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with a very high level of biodiversity. Indonesia is also the center of biodiversity in the world and is called as a megabiodiversity country. One of the biodiversity that Indonesia has is mushroom. Mushrooms have benefit which can be used as the ingredients in food, cosmetics, and medicine. However, mushroom cultivation in some parts of Indonesia is very rare. Indonesia can only provide 0.9% of mushroom needs in the world even though the demand is very high. This becomes an opportunity that can be utilized. There are many mushroom in the forest which need to be developed. In general, fungi or mushrooms are often developed until characteristic analysis, Various kinds of mushrooms grow in different places according to their needs, some of which grow in wood, leaves, dirt and soil. The purpose of this study was study the growth and yield of mushroom at Tahura Forest, Sumber Brantas Village, Bumiaji, Batu on several planting media, and to determine the interaction of mushroom types and planting media on the growth and yield of mushrooms. This research was conducted at unit of mushroom development and center of Biotechnology developmen of University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The study used 4 types of mushrooms and 3 compositions of media, I,e wood powder, goat manure and azolla compost. Based on the result the best composition of media was 75% of woad powder + 25% (14.5% of rice bran, 9% of coorn powder, 0.75% of lime, 0.75% Triple Super Phosphate). The media had the best valve in mycelium grawts, time of primordia appearance, harvest time, fresh and dry weight of mushroom.
