Abstract

High level of egg consumption in Indonesia shows the opportunity for producers to produce egg based on consumer needs. That opportunity is not only limited to increase production capacity, but also to the form of diversification of bulk chicken eggs into new product that is more suitable with consumer needs, such as branded eggs. The purpose of this research are: (1) to describe the perception of household consumer towards branded chicken eggs, (2) to analyze the factors of consumer perception that influence branded chicken eggs demand. Determination of research location was done intentionally (Purposive Sampling) in Lowokwaru sub-district, Malang. Sampling method used in this research was Accidental sampling method with number of research respondents were 60 respondents. Data analysis used in this research was analysis Multiple Linear Regression method.The result of this research are (1) consumers have perception that branded eggs have best quality and spared from the bulk chicken eggs, on the other hand consumers will also continue to buy branded eggs even though the price rises. (2) regression analysis of influence of consumer perception for about 0,113 shows positive value which means if there is one-point increase, it will increase the value of branded eggs demand for about 0,113%.
