Abstract

Giant Prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii), also known as freshwater prawn, belongs to the species of crustacea which have the biggest size among other freshwater prawns. Furthermore, Giant Prawns have high economic value. In cultivating Giant Prawns, knowledge in the use of natural and artificial feed for Giant Prawn larvae of stadia V to know the total of food consumption (JKP) and minimize feed convertion ratio (FCR). The purpose of this study is to know which type of feed is more effective in improving the performance value of the amount of feed consumption (JKP) and FCR (Feed convertion ratio), in order to know the rate of feed use for feed adaptation of prawn stadia V from natural feed to artificial feed. This research was conducted at Nutrition and Fisheries Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The method used in this research was an experimental method using Completely Randomized Design. The research applied five treatments with food combination of silk worm and cake, 100% silk worm and 0% cake, 25% silk worm and 75% cake, 50% silk worm and and 50% cake, 75% silk worm and 25% cake, 100% cake. Each treatment were repeated for four times. The food was given in ad-satiation during 30 days. The main parameter includes total of food consumption (JKP) and Feed convertion ratio (FCR). The data was analyzed by using ANAVA. The reseller shows that the use of silk worm (Tubifexsp) and Cake for giant prawn Stadia V does not influence the total of food consumption (JKP) F. Hitung 2,54< from F. Tabel 5% (3,06) 1% (4,89) and Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR) F. Hitung 1,20< from F. Tabel 5% (3,06) 1% (4,89) giant prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). The quality of water for giant prawn larvae in this research at temperature of 23-29 ̊C, oxygen dissolved at 3,6-8,7 mg/l, and pH at 7,3-8,9. To conclude, the highest total of food consumption for P2 (25% worm and 75% cake) 12,7 gr, while for the lowest feed converation ratio in P4 with the combination of 75% worm and 25% cake, the FCR is 2,3.
