Abstract

This research was conducted in March 2018 at the Fisheries Laboratory of Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different densities on the transport system covered with Sumatran ornamental fish (P. tetrazona) on survival, media water quality and to find out the highest density in this study on transport systems covered with Sumatran ornamental fish (P. tetrazona ) The method used in the study is an experimental method and uses a completely randomized design. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variation (ANAVA) followed by the BNT test (the Smallest Real Difference). Results during transportation with 3 treatments were treatment A density of 100 tails, treatment B with a density of 200 tails and treatment C with density of 300 tails, duration of transportation approximately 18 hours in treatment A 100% and then for treatment B 99.83% while treatment C 99.89%. Treatment of different density differences does not affect the survival of Sumatran ornamental fish (P. tetrazona). The measurement of water quality in this study before and after 18 hours of travel is Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, pH, and Temperature. Ammonia A, B, C is 3.0 - 5.0 mg / l. Nitrite A, B, C is 0.3 mg / l. Nitrate A 12.5 mg / l B and C 25.0 mg / l. pH range 6.5-6.9. Temperature 27.5 - 27.7 oC. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the highest number of densities in the closed transportation system of Sumatra (Puntius tetrazona) Ornamental Fish in the study was 75 head / liter (300 tails) per plastic bag.
