Life satisfaction is important in individual life. Individuals with high life expectancy have high life satisfaction. Hope that is supported by high self-compassion, the higher the satisfaction of his life. The purpose of this study is to find out whether self-compassion is able to moderate the relationship between hope and life satisfaction. The correlational quantitative approach is used as a research method. Subjects in this study amounted to 240 students from the Bugis-Makassar tribe. Data collection methods using Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Adult Hope Scale (AHS), and Self-Compassion Scale (SCS). Data analysis method in this study was carried out using Moderated Regression Analysis and PROCESS Macro. The results of the analysis obtained the Beta value of -0.87 with p = 0.04 (p <0.05). The first hypothesis in this study was that self-compassion was able to moderate the relationship between expectation and life satisfaction, so the first hipotesis was rejected. The results also found a Beta value of 0.03 with p = 0.01 (p <0.05) Self-Compassion was able to moderate the relationship of the two variables in the research subject by 29% (R2= 0.29). The second hypothesis in this study was accepted.
