Abstract

Sorghum ranks 5th in the category of the world's most important food crops after wheat, rice, corn and barley. Sorghum plants have extensive adaptability, so they have the potential to be developed on marginal land in Indonesia. This research was carried out on the experimental field in Purutrejo village, Purworejo sub-district, Pasuruan city. The study began in May 2018 until August 2018 for 4 months. The materials used in this study were 9 genotypes of local sorghum plants originating from various regions in East Java (G1 = Pasuruan, G2 = Lamongan 1, G3 = Lamongan 3, G4 = Tuban, G5 = Sampang 1, G6 = Sampang 2, G7 = Tulungagung 1, G8 = Tulungagung 2, G9 = Jombang), leaves of sorghum, sorghum seeds, sorghum panicles, manure and in-organic fertilizers (SP36, Urea and KCL). The tools used in this study consisted of agricultural equipment (hoes, shovels / slabs, sprinklers, scales, sprayers, sickles). Tools for collecting information science and measurements are stationery, ruler, calipers, Munsell Plant Tissue Color Book and analytical scales, digital camera, plant labels, and logbook. This study used a completely randomized complete group design with treatment of 9 genotypes and replications of 3. The sample used in each replication in one genotype is 5 plants. The variables observed included quantitative observations (plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, panicle length, total dry weight one of panicle, number of seeds one of panicle, fresh weight of 1000 seeds, dry weight of 1000 seeds, leaf length, leaf width, plant height at harvest , number of tillers, flowering age, flowering age to harvest and age of harvest) and qualitative observations (young leaf color, old leaf color, leaf bone color, panicle shape, panicle density, glume color and grain color). The data obtained were analyzed by F test level 5% and 1% followed by a test of BNJ or BNJ level 5%. Based on the analysis of variance, the value of heritability is also calculated. Quantitative data was also analyzed through correlation and path analysis. Quantitative and scoring quantitative data are used as binary data to be analyzed by cluster. Data analysis using SPSS version 16 and Minitab program version 17. Based on ANOVA analysis on the eleven observational parameters obtained significant results except the observation of the parameters of the second week plant height. All observation parameters obtained a high heritability value. The results of cluster analysis were obtained in quantitative and qualitative data divided into two large groups.
