Abstract

The scarcity of yellow crested cockatoo (Sulphurea cockatoo) in Indonesia is caused by the trade of illegal animals and the reduction habitat of Kakatua because it is used by human. This scarcity also occurs type of Abbotti Sulphurea Cockatoo which is currently found on Masakambing Island. The number of Abbotti Cockatoos in 2008 there were only 10 tails in the world. This made the Indonesian Parrot Project try to helping and make Abbotti's Cockatoo save in its habitat. The concept used in this study is the Transnational Civil Society (TCS) and the concept Non Govermental Organization (NGO). This concept will later be used to see the efforts of NGO activities both in terms of advocacy and operational. This research uses descriptive method, where the analysis is IPP efforts in conservation of Abbotti Cockatoo on Masakambing Island. The research method used was interviews as primary sources and literature as secondary sources. Through the efforts by IPP which is advocacy like collaboration with the domestic Civil Society, the campaign process and socialization as well as operational efforts by means of conservation and the process of sosialitaton about salvation awareness to the community and the economic development of the surrounding community have provided an increase in the number of Abbotti cockatoos in their habitat.
