Trends consumptive lifestyles in women of high social households in major cities due to the facilities and infrastructure will support this as a plaza, a magnificent shopping mall and also the mass media such as magazines and television that are realized or not carry enough influence dominant konsumtifnya behavior. The housewife is a woman who had been married, where she has an important role in the family that regulate all financial income and expenditure in the family. Consumptive behaviors that can occur in housewives who have their own income, because income earned is not fully used to meet daily needs. The purpose of this research is to explain how consumer behavior housewife who has a high social own income. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using six housewives who have their own income, which determines the amount of income that the middle-upper social class as subject of study and research was conducted in District Rungkut Kali, Surabaya, which was held on March 5-22-month April 2007. Data collection techniques used were interview techniques, while the data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. Based on research results in six subjects, it can be concluded that the custom made housewives in their spare time that is the way to shop (shopping), and other activities are done only for pleasure and self satisfaction, spending on shopping and other activities to pleasure themselves greater than the budget (budget) that is provided, the existence of external factors (environment, coworkers and television ads) and internal factors (self-control, shopping motives (as entertainment and refreshing because of feeling tired and bored)) which affect consumer behavior in housewives. In addition, consumer behavior occurs because of poor self-control that is in debt to buy goods in want because the price of goods exceeds the available budget, type of goods purchased is not the goods that are used for daily needs, but the goods purchased only to complement the existing collection and most of the goods purchased by the desire to just have the stuff needed without considering whether or not the goods are later. Forms of consumer behavior on social class housewives in the middle of the city of Surabaya this is by shopping (shopping) to the mall, go to the cafe (nightclubs), and always eating in restaurants (restaurants).
