Abstract

Batu is one of the three sub-districts in Batu city. The sub-district has approximately 100,000 inhabitants which prompt a big demand for clean water. One of the important factors in the clean water provision is the pipeline system. There are several factors to consider in the pipeline matter which includes the amount of water supply to distribute and the maximum water pressure to keep the pipeline safe and is under control, and also the budgeting for pipeline procurement. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and calculate the optimization of pipe diameter. The Monte Carlo simulation is one of the applicable methods to solve the optimization issue. The methods showed that the optimum pipeline diameter in Batu sub-district is a combination of 3-12 inches and the relative water pressure limit is between 10-80 meter. From the analysis and calculation result, the research is expected to provide the solution for the optimization issue to get the lowest budget.
