Abstract

Today, animation technology has been improved, many techniques are used to create animation that can simplify the process of making animation, especially to animate human movements. In a human animation, body movements alone are not enough to make the animation interesting. Therefore it is necessary to add facial expressions to the characters so that the audience can know the emotions in the character. Face is a part of the human body that has a series of interconnected muscle tissue, the muscles are affected by Nervus 7 or often called Nervus Facialis. In the medical science of muscles in the face is often referred to as Mimetic Muscles or Facial Muscles, which is the muscle used for expression. This study aims to simulate the movements of muscles in the face which refers to the anatomy of the human face muscles. The model in this simulation is made using the Blender application and the simulation will be built using the Unity engine. This simulation will use Rigging animation techniques where each rig or bone in a 3-dimensional model will replace the muscle function in the face which is then moved by XYZ coordinate transformation on Unity.For testing, a comparison of the results of the 3-dimensional model movement with the reference image has been made.
