Abstract

One effort to increase the productivity of lettuce plants is by providing fertilizers. However, the use of chemical fertilizers continuously can pollute the environment and the people of Indonesia begin to want agricultural products that are free of chemical fertilizer so that they are safe for consumption and the creation of a healthy environment. Kascing Fertilizer is a fertilizer that is sourced from reforming organic materials with the help of microorganisms and worms. In vermicompost there are growth stimulants such as giberlin, cytokinin, ausin and nutrients N, P, K, Mg, Ca, and azotobacter sp bacteria which are non-symbolic N-fixing bacteria that will help enrich the N elements needed by plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of three varieties of lettuce to the administration of liquid vermicompost concentration. This research was conducted on May 21, 2018 until May 25, 2018 at the Experimental Garden of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The design used in this study is factorial RAK 2. The first factor is the lettuce (V) variety. The second factor is the concentration of liquid vermicompost (K). So that there are 15 treatment combinations and repeated 3 times. From the results of the observations it was known that there was an interaction between the concentration of liquid vermicompost and the varieties with the best treatment V3K5. Variety treatment gave a significant effect on the observation variables of plant height, leaf number, plant wet weight, root wet weight, amount of chlorophyll, plant dry weight, and root dry weight. The concentration treatment showed a significant difference in the root length observation variable and did not show a significant difference in the other observation variables.
