Abstract

Most of the fourth grade students of SDN Ringin Rejo 03 Blitar lack the speaking skills in mastering linguistic and non linguistic factors. This is because it still uses traditional models and less varied methods. As a result, the value of students in speaking skills is still lacking. Of the 12 students there were only 5 students whose grades were complete and 7 students had not yet completed, so there needed to be an effort to improve student learning outcomes through the application of innovative learning models and methods.This study aims to find out: 1) the application of chain story techniques in improving mathematics learning outcomes in grade 4 students of SD Negeri Ringin Rejo o3. 2) improvement in speaking skills in fourth grade students at SDN Ringin Rejo 03 Blitar after the implementation of Chain Story Technique. This type of research is classroom action research. Subjects in this study were fourth grade students at SDN Ringin Rejo 03 Blitar with a total of 12 students. The object of research in this study is the speaking of fourth grade students at SDN Ringin Rejo 03 Blitar in Indonesian subjects students' speaking skills. This research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The results of the study are grouping steps, reading, remembering, saying short sentences, and conveying the ones in the chain story technique and have done well. Students also showed enthusiasm in learning. The application of chain story techniques can improve students' speaking skills. This was indicated by the value of the students' speaking skills that reached 83.33% and only two students had not yet reached the KKM
