Abstract

This research was conducted at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze what factors and what factors dominantly motivate students of the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Muhammadiyah Malang in deciding to follow student organizations or not. Determination of research subjects using purposive sampling method and using the subject of student research that is active in student organizations.This study uses qualitative methods in data collection and data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the factors underlying the reason students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) University of Muhammadiyah Malang in following the organization can be grouped into two parts namely Intrinsic Motivation and Extrinsic Motivation. intrinsic factors consisting of needs, expectations, interests, aspirations, aspirations, talents, intelligence, perceptions, and extrinsic motivations consisting of family environment, learning environment, and community environment. of these factors are the most dominant intrinsic factors affecting students in making decisions into a student organization.
