Abstract
Hepatitis B is a disease caused by the Hepatitis B virus which damages the liver with an incubation period of 14-160 days. Disease spread through blood and its products, unsafe injections, blood transfusions, childbirth, through sexual intercourse. Perinatal transmission is transmission that occurs during labor. Most mothers with Hepatitis B will transmit vertical HBV infection to babies born while mothers who are anti-HBbe positive will not transmit it. The design of this study uses a case study method. The data of this study were taken using interview and observation methods. Samples taken were 3 participants, patients and families. The purpose of this study was to find out what efforts were made by pregnant women in preventing transmission of Hepatitis B in children. The results of this study obtained 2 themes, namely the perception of the efforts of pregnant women with hepatitis B and the perception of the dangers of hepatitis B in pregnant women. Participants have made several efforts to prevent transmission of hepatitis by carrying out routine checks and doing drug therapy. Telbivudin decreases vertical transmission rates because telbivudin is effective in reducing HBV DNA serum by more than 4log10. Even so, mothers still have to deliver labor in the hospital to get hepatitis B immunization for their children.
