Abstract

The background of this study is based on the tendency of the fitness center's members that carry out self-disclosure whereas they have not been too familiar and only met while doing sports at the fitness center. The purpose of this study is to find out how big the influence of personality factor to self-disclosure is in interpersonal interaction. The personality factors in this research are extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience as measured by eight indicators: self-socialization, affection, trust, sympathy, positive behavior, caution, self-discipline, emotional stability, a broad mindset, and simplicity. Meanwhile, self-disclosure is measured through six indicators which are willingness to be open, to disclose oneself as it is, a talk that is positive, honesty and truthfulness of message content, things that are expressed, and personal things that are expressed. This research uses quantitative approach with survey base. The technique that is used in determining the subject is by total sampling technique, data collection technique using questionnaires. The test that is used in this study includes test of validity, reliability, P-Plot normality, linearity, multicolliniearity, and multiple linear regression analysis. The result of the research towards 80 members of MAXGYM fitness center Malang, by setting the level of significance of 5% is obtained t value counted as big as 2.913 > f table 2.34, then there is a significant influence between the variable of personality factors to the variables of self-disclosure simultaneously. With a significance level of 5%, it is obtained t value counted 2.095 > 1.99254, then there is an influence of extroversion variables on self-disclosure. With a significance level of 5%, it is obtained t value counted 2,100 > t table 1.99254, then there is a significant influence among the variable of agreeableness to self-disclosure in interpersonal interaction at MAXGYM fitness center, Malang. With a significance level of 5%, it is obtained t value counted 0.318 < t table 1.99254, then there is no influence of conscientiousness variables on self-disclosure. With a significance level of 5%, it is obtained value of t counted 1.474 < table 1.99254, then there is no influence of neuroticism variable on self-disclosure. With a significance level of 5%, it is obtained t value counted 0.324 < table 1.99254, then there is no influence of openness to experience variable on self-disclosure. The magnitude of determination coefficient is 0.164 which means personality factor gives a small effect that is equal to 16.4% to self-disclosure. In the regression test, it is determined the equation Y = 9,089 + 0,514X + 0,494X + 0,067x + 0,319X + 0,068X.
