Abstract

This study aims to determine the presence / absence of the influence of the Teams Games Tournament learning model on students' creativity and conceptual understanding in mathematics learning. This research uses quasi-experimental research (Quasi-Experimental Research). The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP YPPSB. The research sample taken with the consideration of the supervising teacher and the class average ability is superior, so obtained class VIII H are 32 learners as an experimental class and class VIII D amounted to 31 learners as the control class. The analysis is used to analyze the research data is independent sample t-test (t test) on a post-test results. The results showed the creativity and understanding of the concept using the Teams Games Tournament learning model was better than the class using conventional learning On average creativity using the learning model Teams Games Tournament tcount = 4.080 and an average understanding of the concept of tcount = 11.012 with ttable = 2,00 which means tcount > ttable. Thus there is a significant effect of the type of learning model application teams tournament games against the students' creativity and understanding of concepts in mathematics.
