Abstract

Yayasan Dana Sosial Al-Falah (YDSF) is the oldest nonprofit foundation of zakat, infaq, and shadaqah fundraising and distribution field in Indonesia. This existence is obtained through various efforts, one of them is to maintain a good relationship with the donors as the main financial public. YDSF Malang built an especial division to do investor relations activities, i.e. Corporate Communications and Donors Service. Based on it, researcher made a problem formulation about what activities YDSF Malang did to build a relationship with the donors. Researcher combined Frank Jefkins concept about public relations activities with investor relations theory submitted by Dan Lattimore cs. and strengthen it with relations theory that consist of system theory and situational theory. This research used survey quantitative method, which the result of data research was analyzed in descriptive statistic because the aim of this research is to describe the obtained data and to reveal what happened on the research subjects. The survey involved 57 respondents and an interviewees with questionnaire, interview, and documentation for the technic of data collections. The result of research showed that to build relationship with the donors, YDSF Malang did various activities, among others are: making profile instruments; holding exhibitions; publishing posters of dakwah message; giving space for the press to do news coverage; being information provider for the donors; making financial reports; establishing SOP of services; visiting the donors and otherwise; providing communication media for the donors; managing internal magazine; holding opinion survey; and providing suggestions and critics channels. The most known activity by the donors is managing and distributing of internal magazine in each month.
