Abstract

The four-intersection of jalan Terusan Sulfat-jalan Kapiworo-jalan Raya Sawojajar and the three-intersection of jalan Terusan Sulfat-jalan Danau Kerinci Raya are located in Malang area which show the vehicle average queue of 20-40 meter with the delay of 40-60 seconds, and the vehicle average queue of 25 meter with the delay of 30-40 seconds, consecutively. This research aims at finding the proper phase arrangement on the four-intersection and the three-intersection to get the best performance. The method aplied in this research was traffic volume survey with 12 hours/day duration for 7 days. The result showed three alternatives calculation. The four-intersection used 2-phase as its first alternative, 3-phase as its second alternative, and 4-phase as its third alternative. The three-intersection is suggested tu use 2-phase as its first alternative, and 3 phases as its second alternative, and the last, to use 2 phases with no right turn sign on the jalan Terusan Sulfat. The most appropriate phase of the Four-intersection was on 3rd alternative with northern approach DS=0.84, southern approach DS=0.84, western approach DS=0.84, and eastern approach DS=0.84 with the traffic delay of 16 seconds and service level C (medium). On the Three-intersection, the most appropriate phase was alternative 2 with northern approach DS=0.43, southern approach DS=0.74, and western approach DS=0.74 with the traffic delay of 11 seconds and service level B (good)
