Abstract

Okra is an introduced plant in Indonesia. This lack of familiarity with vegetable plants is due to many who do not know the content and uses. Until now the production of okra has not achieved maximum results. Tofu liquid waste is liquid waste that is unused and can be used as a liquid organic fertilizer. Tofu liquid waste contains a lot of organic matter compared to organic matter. The protein content of tofu liquid waste reaches 40-60%, 25-50% carbohydrates, and 10% fat, so that it has the potential to be used as a liquid organic fertilizer. But the provision of liquid organic fertilizer must be applied with certain doses in order to support the process of plant growth. This study was conducted to determine the response of tofu wastewater to several doses of the growth and yield of okra plants. This research was conducted at the Horticulture Hall, Jl. Bukit Berbunga No. 38, Sidomulyo, Batu City, East Java. The study was conducted 3 months, from July to September 2018. The design used in this study was a simple randomized block design (RBD), with 3 replications with 1 treatment factor, namely a dose of liquid organic fertilizer. The data obtained were analyzed by ANOVA test level of 5% and 1%, if there was a real effect, further analysis was carried out by BNJ test with a level of 5%. The results of the study giving several doses of liquid organic wastewater tofu fertilizer responded to the okra plant which did not significantly affect the growth variable and crop yield, namely plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, leaf area, canopy wet weight, root wet weight, canopy dry weight, root dry weight, fruit diameter, number of fruits, total fruit number, and total fruit weight.
