Abstract

Tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.) are plants from the Solanaceae family, plants native to Central and South America, from Mexico to Peru. Tomatoes can grow in both low and highlands. Composting is the process by which organic matter undergoes biological decomposition, especially by microbes that utilize organic matter as an energy source. Manure is a fertilizer derived from animal manure that is used to provide nutrients for plants. Manure plays a role in improving the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. This study used factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors and 2 replication groups. The first factor is the leaf litter compost dosage which consists of 4 control levels (K0), 1 kg / plot (K1), 2 kg / plot (K2), 3 kg / plot (K3) and factor 2 namely cow manure doses consist from 4 control levels (S0), 1 kg / plot (S1), 2 kg / plot (S2), and 3 kg / plot (S3). Of the two factors, 16 combinations of treatments were obtained. Test variables observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of fruits and weight of wet fruit. The results showed an interaction between the treatment of leaf litter compost and cow manure. The administration of 3 kg / plot leaf litter compost and 3 kg cow manure / plot doses gave the best results on the growth and yield variables of the tomato plant (Solanum lycopersicum L.) Karina variety. Leaf litter compost fertilizer significantly affected all variables, with 3 kg of leaf litter compost / plot doses showed the best results for the growth and yield of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.) Karina variety. Cow manure significantly affected all observation variables with 3 kg cow manure / plot doses showing the best results on the growth and yield of the tomato plant (Solanum lycopersicum L.) Karina variety.
