The role of mother as a single parent in this present life is something interesting to say. This is because women different from men in business and how to do the work, to see the difference that made the women we can see from the woman's role related to its function in social life. Responsibilities as a single parent mother of the family is not just enough to perform everyday obligations in the ordinary household, single parent mothers also have a responsibility in meeting the economic needs of his family, but it also must be able to play as well as father to their children. The task requires a tremendous responsibility that they often experience obstacles in living it. This research is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to identify the emotions that often appear on Mother Single Parent and management of such emotions. This research was conducted on July 18 until July 31, 2007. The subject of this research is Mother Single Parent as many as 30 people. Methods of data collection using the questionnaire method. The result showed that the emotion that often appear on Mother Single Parent namely the emotion of fear / anxiety, emotional upset, angry emotions, and emotional upset. The cause of the emotion of fear / anxiety, among others, can not educate and raise children well, the future development of the child, the child afraid of socializing and economic problems. As for the cause of emotional upset among others remembered as the deceased, when the son asks his father and the child can not get love from his father. Cause of the emotion of anger among other things, lack of finances to meet daily needs, the child would not advised and mischievous child or a fight. As for the cause of emotional upset, among others, failure in marriage, unable to meet the needs of children, there is no adequate financial and husbands. As for how to overcome the emotion of fear / anxiety, among others, pray / dhikr, chat with family or friends, and invite children to play and chat. Meanwhile, to cope with sad emotions such as crying, praying and vent. How to overcome the emotion of anger among other things, talked to family, quiet and looking busy with work. Meanwhile, to overcome the emotional upset among others, cry, vent and try to accept reality.
