Abstract

The results of student learning on mathematics subjects namely subtheme fractions change the fraction in SDN Mojolangu I Malang especially class IV is still quite low, so there needs to be an effort through Monopoly game model. Based on the observation, many students who do not understand the material fractions very well, even though the fractional material is the material that will be studied in class V with the wider material, if in class IV students do not understand well the material then there will be obstacle in class V. In addition, there are still many students who have not completed the results of study with an average score of 50 while the determined KKM score for mathematics subjects is 70 by school with a percentage of classical completeness of 80%. Therefore, the research aims to: (1) know the process of learning mathematics by using Monopoly game model of fractional material in SDN Mojolangu I Malang class IV, and (2) know the improvement of learning outcomes by using Monopoly game model of fractional material in SDN Mojolangu I Malang class IV. This research uses the type of research which is PTK (Classroom Action Research) and using a quantitative and qualitative approach. The subject of research is students in SDN Mojolangu I Malang class IV which amounted to 21 students. This research was conducted in semester II of academic year 2017/2018 in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. The data used in the research is teacher activity, student activity, and learning outcomes, whereas, the data sources are teachers and students. The data collection techniques are using observation, test, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques in the study consist of qualitative and quantitative data analysis. This research uses the design from Suharsimi Arikunto. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes by using the Monopoly game model in fourth grade students of SDN Mojolangu Malang. Learning outcomes are divided into three domains each cycle is: (1) affective domain, (2) cognitive domain, (3) psychomotor domain. The affective domain in the cycle 1 is 57, 14% increase into 80, 95% in cycle II. The cognitive domain in the cycle I is 66, 66% increase into 85, 71% in cycle II. The psychomotor domain in the cycle I is 47, 61% increase into 80, 95% in cycle II. Therefore, the application of Monopoly game model on fractional material can improve the student learning outcomes in fourth grade students of SDN Mojolangu I Malang
