Abstract
Saga tree (A pavonina L) is a versatile plant, all parts of the plant are beneficial starting from seeds, wood, bark and leaves. Saga trees are able to produce seeds rich in protein, the protein content found in saga seeds is also greater when compared to soybeans and some other commercial crops. Saga trees can be planted with other plants, this type is generally also used as shade on large roads and is also easily found on the beach. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction of the growth of saga plants (A pavonina L) on the composition of the growing media and different dosages of NPK fertilizer. This research was conducted at the Forestry screen house, University of Muhammadiyah Malang in July-August 2017. This research method uses RAK (randomized block design) with 2 (two) factors. Factor 1 The planting media consists of 3 types namely soil 1: compost 2 (A1), soil 1: husk charcoal 2 (A2), soil 1: compost 1: husk charcoal 1 (A3). Factor 2 NPK fertilizer with 3 types of doses namely 1 gram (B1), 2 gram (B2), 3 gram (B3). All treatments were repeated 3 times. Observations were made 1 week after administration of fertilizer for 8 weeks (2 months). After the data is obtained the data will be analyzed by analysis of variance and then if it has a significant or very significant effect on the treatment, a docking test of the level of 5% is conducted. The results showed that treatment with soil planting media 1: husk charcoal 2 (A2) and administration of 3 gram fertilizer (B3) or combination treatment (A2B3) showed a significant effect on the growth of saga seedlings (A pavonina L) seen from all aspects of observation such as seedling height, seedling diameter, number of leaves, root length, and wet weight and dry weight. In addition, one of the factors that influence the growth of saga seedlings (A pavonina L) is a group or replication which shows the location of the planting location also affects growth.
