Abstract

Earthquake have a risk of causing damage to buildings. It happens when there is the earthquake, the building will have horizontal drift and if a horizontal drift exceeds the safe conditions that had been set on the rules, then the building will collapse. Neo Java Condotel of Batu is residential building that is planned has 7 floors and stands on an area 2575 m2. In Neo Java Condotel of Batu construction project, the structure is designed using moment resisting frame system as the gravitiy and lateral load restraint. The method used in this re-design is dual system method which is combination of Momen Resisting Frame Structure with Shear Wall. The result of re-design, thick size of floor plates is 120 mm, secondary beam is 200/300 mm and 250/450 mm, main beam is 250/450 mm and 300/600 mm, column is 400/600 mm, and thickness of shear wall is 300 mm. The drift value for the primary portal without shearwall is 38,547 mm, primary portal with shearwall is 17,393 mm and non-primary portal is 7,634 mm with value of drift ratio in each direction is 0,00157, 0,00071, and 0,00031. With the value of the drift ratio, it can be concluded that the building is in a stable sate.
