Abstract

The flat slab structure is a new concrete structure in Indonesia and only a few have been applied. Whereas in its application this type of structure is flexible to the room. But for the resistance to the vertical or horizontal style is not good. Therefore an understanding of flat slab struture calculations to withstand vertical and horizontal forces needs to be studied. Design with frame equivalent methods is an appropriate method for analyzing this flat slab structure, where there are no restrictions on conditions such as direct design methods. The structure is divided into continuous frames centered on the columns in each direction perpendicular to each other. Each of these frame consists of a series of columns and wide plates between the center lines of the panel. Furthermore, for design of plate reinforcement, the moment force is distributed to columns strip and middle strip based on distribution coefficient of BS 8110-1: 1997. Results re-design 25 cm thick plate, dimensions drop panel 280/280 thick 35 cm, column dimensions 70/70 cm. The drift value on the most critical is C frame 43,19 mm and drift ratio 0.001379 is still smaller than the safe limit of 0,0025, so the building is inferred still stable to horizontal load (earthquake).
