Abstract

An aging on the skin is happened naturally. The factor causes of premature aging is the one of free radical dangers. Green tea contains cathecin which has a function as antioxidant can treat DNA destruction caused free radical dangers. Other antioxidant there found cocoa fats (oleum cacao) that’s obtained from Theobroma cacao seeds. The aim of the research is to find out the effect concentration of green tea extract on oleum cacao base which is given an optimal results to physical characteristics (organoleptic, homogeneity, viscosity, and dispersion), chemical characteristic (pH) and stability testing (freeze thaw) as antioxidant cream dosage. An antioxidant cream of green tea formulated to became 3 formula with extract concentration 0,2% (FI), 0,4% (FII), and 0,8% (FIII). Analysis was descriptively ( emulsion type, organoleptic, homogeneity, and stability (freeze thaw) and statistical testing of One-Way Anova (viscosity, dispersion, and pH). The result of an evaluation testing is obatained that all formula have emulsion type O/W. The result of organoleptic on formula I and II have brown colour, and formula III brown greenery colour, significant smell of aromatic, smooth texture and homogenous. On stability testing (Freeze Thaw) is obtaimed of stable dosage, because it doesn’t separation fase of all formula. From statistical testing of One-Way Anova is obatined third formula have significant differences for pH, viscosity, and dispersion. Formula with extract concentration 0,8% (FIII) is the best formula because it has pH values 7,85 which is fulfill the range of SNI 16-4954-1998 with pH 3,5-8 for cream.
