Abstract

Modern markets are growing rapidly have resulted in a declining ratio of the desire to shop in traditional markets. Public interest to shopping in modern markets is supported by the attributes of convenience in purchasing, cleanliness of the place and environmental aspects in meeting secondary and primary needs. Superindo is one of the modern markets that has many branches in Indonesia, including the city of Malang. Superindo also sells horticulture products including fresh fruits. One of the fruits that attracted consumers' attention was fresh pears where Superindo offered various types of pears. The objectives of this study were 1) To determine the characteristics of consumers of fresh pears at Superindo Tlogomas, 2) To analyze the factors that influence consumer decisions in purchasing fresh pears on Superindo Tlogomas. This research was conducted at Superindo Supermarket, Tlogomas Branch, Malang City. Survey research uses accidental sampling method and taken 50 respondents using a questionnaire in April 2018. Questionnaire data were tested using validity and reliability tests, while the data analysis used descriptive analysis, factor analysis. The results showed 2 new factors were formed, namely 1) Place factor, 2) Product factor. 46 out of 50 respondents considered attitude positively, this can be interpreted as respondents accept that the importance of attributes consisting of price, freshness, color brightness, product cleanliness, and packing (packaging) are things that become aspects of interest and trust in buying fruit. fresh pears
