Abstract

Rice is still the main food ingredients consumed by most Indonesians till this day. This is because rice is seen as a political commodity, which in which rice production and management gets the government's attention and direct government intervention is needed, so that rice prices remain stable one of the efforts made is to monitor and survey the availability of rice, and certain activities which can helping to stabilize rice prices. Because if unstable can affect the economy of the country of Indonesia. The title set in this research is "Rice Commerce in Pasuruan City". This study aims to determine the form of rice distribution channels in Pasuruan City, Analyzing the amount of trading margins between sales agents and analyze the amount of transmission elasticity in Pasuruan City. The research was conducted in all parts of Pasuruan City starting from farm household to consumer level. The method of determining the location of rice research is done purposively (purposive) with the consideration that, Pasuruan is an industrial center due to the amount of land production is smaller than the per capita consumption of the surrounding population. Sampling starts from the first level (Farm household) is determined by purposive sampling to the level of consumers following the various channels that occur in rice marketing. From result of primary data that have been processed, got result from comparison at producer level (farmer selling price of GKG) and consumer level (selling price of wholesaler), then price transmission elasticity is equal to regression coefficient value that is η = 0,301 <1 (In elastic). And there are four marketing channels of rice trading. The highest marketing margin occurred in rice milling (6.62%), retailers (6.15%), collecting traders (2.56%) and wholesalers (2.56%). Meanwhile, based on the profit margin of rice milling, the profit earned Rp.246, - per Kg, collecting traders Rp.50, - perKg, large traders Rp.100, - per Kg, retailers earn profit Rp. 250, - per Kg.
