Abstract

Learning science is one of the important factors in the learning of living environment (biotics), to know the events that occur in the environment there needs to be a provision of knowledge that must be fulfilled. One of the issues concerning the Environment is the material of Environmental Pollution. Learning science in proper way and according to the 2013 curriculum are not enough by reading books, but the teaching must be equipped with learning media to help the learning achievement is fullfilled. The purpose of this study was to produce Ultra Water Filtration media and analyze the validity and effectiveness of Ultra Water Filtration media on environmental pollution material for students of Muhammadiyah 1 Junior High School in Malang City. This type of research is Reserch and Development (R & D). The model used under Brog & Gall (1983) steps which is carried out to seven stages, initial field trials, revision of test results, field trials and product field trial improvements. To find out the validity and effectiveness of learning media is done by giving questionnaires to material experts and media experts while to measure student learning outcomes is done by pretest and posttest. The results of this study are in the form of science or biology learning media products that have gone through several test stages and revisions from experts and students. Based on the feasibility test of media experts and material experts, Ultra Filtration Water learning media was stated feasible and effective to be used in learning. Based on the limited field test there was an increase in student learning outcomes on environmental pollution material, namely from the average pretest score of 20% increased to 53% after using the media (Pretest).
