Abstract

Student’s motivation on class XI Design SMKN 3 Malang was still low, especially on the subjects of Islamic education and character. There were many students who consider that the subjects of Islamic education and character were monotonous and bored, so this negative view has a negative impact on result of student learning. There were several of the factors which caused the students felt bored, saturated, and low in learning motivation due to the study that more focused to the teacher, and subject of teacher didn’t innovative and monotone in learning process. The best solution to solve that problem was required more varied and more focused to the student-centered of learning model by applying the model of learning-based learning (PBL). This research aims to examine the influencing of learning model problem based learning on motivation and the result of students learning on class XI Design in subject of Islamic education and character in SMKN 3 Malang. This research was conducted at SMKN 3 Malang in January until February 2018. This research approach was used quantitative of experimental research, the samples were taken from the students of class XI Design which amounted to 32 students. The research instrument was used consisted of two parts namely, questionnaire to reveal the student's learning motivation, and documentation to measure of student's learning result both pre-test and post-test, and the result of both instruments were tested through statistic. From t calculation result table, it is found that: t-count > t-tab (8,693> 2.040) and (3,486> 2,040), because t-count > t-tab so Ha accepted and Ho rejected, hence hypothesis accepted. So it could be concluded that there was influence model of learning problem based learning on motivation and the result of learning. This showed that used of problem based learning model has a significant effect on students' motivation and the result of learning in Islamic education subjects and character.
