Abstract

Along with the various forms, types of buildings and various new technologies that have been discovered, the higher the use of concrete as one type of building construction materials. The addition of materials in making concrete will affect the properties of the concrete itself. Waste around the environment can be utilized as an added ingredient in the manufacture of concrete, one of the waste shell egg shell. With the addition of resin as a substitute for cement to bind the concrete, called polymer concrete. Variable used in this research is independent variable and bound. Free variable: ratio of sand weight to eggshell with variation 1:0, 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5 and percentage of resin 20%, 10% as binder. Dependent variable: absorption, density and compressive strength. The result of density test of the biggest value on variation 1:0 with resin 20% that is 1491,197 kg/m3 and smallest value at variation 1:5 with resin 10% that is 1136,150 kg/m3. The results of 28 days of age absorption test the smallest value on variation 1:0 with 20% resin that is 4.09% and the largest value in variation 1:5 with 10% resin that is 10.72%. While the results of the compressive strength test age 28 days the largest value in the variation of 1:0 with 20% resin of 30.23 MPa and the smallest value in variation 1:5 with 10% resin that is 7.68 Mpa. Based on the results of research, eggshell weight and the amount of resin resulted in higher absorption value obtained while for density and compressive strength decreased.
