Abstract

Vermicomposting is a composting process by earthworms, where the composting process is carried out by decomposing the substrate, ororganic compounds biodegradable which are broken down with a portion of the remaining organic matter converted into high-quality and stable organic fertilizer. The aim of this study was to determine the nutrient content vermicompost of three different earthworm feed combinations and their effect on the yield and growth of three shallot varieties This study used Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). The first factor is the composition of worm feed (K) consisting of K1: 50% soybean husk + 50% bagasse + cow dung, K2: 50% soybean husk + 50% sawdust + cow dung, K3: 50% soybean husk + 25% bagasse + 25% sawdust + cow dung. The second factor is the shallot variety (V) which consists of V1:Varieties Biru Lancor, V2:Varieties Bauji, and V3:Varieties Philippine. All treatments were repeated 3 times. The results showed that there was no interaction between the treatment of the basic ingredients of vermicompost and red onion varieties on all the variables of growth and yield of shallots.treatment soybean husk 50% + bagasse 50% (K1) tends to have higher analysis results compared to other combinations. The onion variety treatment,variety Philippine (V3) has better results on the variable plant height, wet weight of tuber tuber, dry weight of tuber tuber, and tuber diameter, variety Bauji (V2) has better results on variable number of leaves, number of tillers, and the number of tubers, while the variety Biru Lancor (V1) has better results in wet stover weight variables, wet weight of tubers, and dry weight of tubers.
