Abstract

Onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of the many types of onions available in the world. Onion is a spice vegetable which although not native to Indonesia, but its use as a spice for cooking is very closely related to the Indonesian tongue because it contains a lot of nutrients. The content of 100 grams of onion is 80-85% water, 1.5% protein, 0.3% fat, and 9.2% carbohydrates and other ingredients in the form of iron, minerals, potassium, phosphorus, ascorbic acid, naisim, riboflavin vitamins B and vitamin C. Increased community needs for onion must be followed by an increase in the number of production by farmers. Efforts to increase the production of onion have not been followed by the use of organic fertilizers thoroughly and efficiently. The use of organic fertilizer greatly affects the improvement of soil physical, chemical and biological properties. Organic fertilizer is divided into two types, namely solid and liquid. The use of liquid organic fertilizers such as local microorganisms (MOL) is an alternative that is applied to support the growth of onion plants and support nutrient requirements in the soil. Therefore, it is necessary to study the effective dose of MOL for onion plants. The design used in this study was a randomized block design (RBD) arranged factorially with 2 treatments and there were 6 combinations repeated 3 times. Each treatment uses 3 plant samples. Factor 1 is the dose of administration of local microorganisms (D) consisting of D1: 25 ml / plant, D2: 50ml / plant, D3: 75 ml / plant. Factor 2 is onion variety (V) consisting of V1:variety onion seeds Bauji, V2:variety onion seeds Thai. Observation parameters include plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, wet weight of plants, wet weight of plant tubers, dry weight of plants, dry weight of plant tubers, plant diameter. The results showed that the dose (D) of the administration with onion variety (V) had a significant interaction at the height of plants aged 60 HST and the number of tillers aged 40 HST. The treatment of MOL dosing and two onion varieties did not significantly affect the growth and yield of onion.
